  • Annie actually became very lucid while eating her favorite meal made exactly the way she use to make it.  
  • Geneva enjoyed homemade collard greens prepared especially for her.  She fondly remembers making them for her own family in the past.
  • Marge was visibly emotional as she announced the family members of the band to the audience. She was truly greatful and was honored & proud that they performed for her & her friends.
  • Gladys was able to paint her pottery piece with her family & new friends. It brought back memories of former days when she taught ceramics in her own studio.
  • Betty at her favorite restaurant, Gallo's, where her husband and she use to go on Friday nights.  She loved visiting and eating there once again.

  • Best Friends together again!  The reunion visit was a very special time for both Elaine and Maybeth.
  • In March, we decided to surprise her with a lunch outting to Chinatown,  where she enjoyed her favorite meal, Wor Sue Gai! She is pictured here  with her sponsor, Lana Mishey.
  • Laura got to visit her old church with 12 other residents from her community, and had a special dinner.  She was thrilled.
  • Marie was laughing and smiling the whole time we were out there. She said she was a little rusty but she was having the time of her life.

Also attending were first grade students from a neighboring school who were her pupils  for the afternoon.

  • Ed wanted to see the ocean again and look at cars - especially BMWs because that is what he sold.  With the help of his family, his dream was fulfilled.  Prior to this outing, it had been several years since he left the building.
  • What a fabulous first dream for Elmcroft of West Knoxville - We brought Greece to two elders who longed to see their homeland!  We heard Greek music and there were more than 200 people there to relive Greece with our honorees. We also made Greek food from scratch.   • When we asked Betty if you could have anything you wanted for your birthday what would you want? She said to take her daughter Darla and Darla's family to a St. Louis Blues Hockey game because they take care of me all the time. Betty's birthday was Sept. 27th. She startd crying when I said I would try to get her tickets, she and her daughter both cried when I said I could get the tickets and we had a bawling fest when I presented the tickets to them! My friend that works at Anhueser-Busch looked into it and came up with 6 tickets in the area where they had their own bathroom and also a waitress to take their order. Her family took off of work. Gramma watched Darla's sons play Hockey all over the United States and Canada. They had a great time! I will scan some pictures that Darla took for you. You still cannot wipe the smile off of Betty's face. Thanks again for helping us think outside of the box!

  • Anna is a young lady who is 85yrs old who had a dream of riding a  motorcycle again. She & her late husband courted on a motorcycle in  the 1940's. She hadn't ridden a bike since.
  • This elder was known for her lovely embroidery work - but with no supplies, she was unable to continue to enjoy her hobby.  New supplies give her a new joy with an old hobby.

  • Working as a landscaper most of his life and now in an elder care community and blind, this elder wanted the opportunity to mow the lawn at the elder care community.  A local lawn care company donated the use of the equipment and he was off and running.  When it was over, he fell to his knees with his face in the grass.  As he was approached by onlookers to see if he was ok, he replied
  • Gloria Richards, 89, a sleeping dreamer, often speaks to staff and visitors about singing on Broadway as a young woman.  When asked to sing for the ECC, she simply replies there is no stage and I need to be dressed properly.  At the kick off event, Gloria was whisked away and

  • Abe is a Cantor. Even though he lived in a nursing home, he longed to talk with someone in Hebrew and discuss the history and religion of his lifetime. Cantor Goodfriend spent the afternoon with Abe and you could tell you were on hallowed ground.
  • Hazel is 101 years old! She spent 70 years of her life volunteering and involved with music. Her Dream, to hear a choir again, since it had been 10 years. The Shorter College (GA) Chorale, where Hazel attended came to Beverly Healthcare Northside to sing, because Hazel also wanted to friends there to be able to enjoy it as well.
  • Dreams to relive past experiences are so important. This Tennessee resident had been a painter and even though wheelchair bound this Community Eldercare Living Center made sure that he had his old job back. He was given a sense of purpose again.
  • Ruth was on a bowling league her whole life and missed getting out to the lanes.  She and 3 of her friends from her assisted living went head to head with the pins. There were even a few strikes. She still had great style.
